Massive assemblage of wire photos (500+) taken inside Japan from the 1920's thru the 1980's. Many are pre-WWII, and the vast majority pre-date 1960. They range in size from 5" x 7" to 9" x 12". Average conditions range from VG-EX with many better. Categories include Railroads, Army Infantry post WWII, Navy Ships, Atomic Power, Army WWII Tanks, Tanks Post WWII, Athletics, Occupation, Customs, Farmers, Navy Battle Cruiser Kongo, and Earthquakes (1920’s-1930’s). There is also a nice General Douglas MacArthur grouping which includes a shot of his headquarters in 1948 Tokyo. Non military photos are also well represented, many of which display life in post WWII occupied Japan. Earthquake aftermaths are a significant subject as well. And you will find lots of monuments and historic shots. Most of the photos in this collection have news service caption sheets taped to the verso or on the lower part of the image. This is an incredible collection with great variety.
