Amazing and famous image, Eddie Gadel bats for St. Louis. Rare to find, this is an original first photo, not a re-print, dated August 18, 1951, the day the game was played. As a lark the next day St. Louis signed him on as an amateur free-agent, only to rescind 2 days later. This is an incredible shot of Gadel who at 3'8" and 65 lbs will always be known as the shortest player in Major League history. The 7 x 9.5" image is in EX condition with good color contrast and very minor wrinkling.
