Large assortment of wire photos (140) from the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. It was also known as the "Century of Progress International Exposition". These news service photos range in size from 6 1/2" x 8" to 8" x 10", with conditions running the gamut from VG-NRMT and many in EX. There are shots of pre-event demolition, construction, and actual exhibits from many countries including France, Italy, Belgium, Japan and Morocco. There are photos of the model of George Washington's Mount Vernon made entirely of pearls and given to Chicago by Japan in 1933, just 8 years before the attack on Pearl Harbor. There are also many aerial photos of Chicago. A wonderful collection.
