Lot 951: President Richard Nixon (500+)

A massive collection of photos (500+) from the San Francisco Examiner detailing events in Richard Nixon's career from the 1950's up to the 1970's when he was President. The photos begin with a 1953 Far Eastern tour, also 1958 a trip to South America and a 1959 trip to the USSR and Poland. There are groups that include photos of President Nixon on tour of Venezuela, Korea, Bolivia, Moscow and meeting Gorbachev in 1991, and Brezhnev in 1974 for the American Soviet Agreement. In 1974 other photos include a visit to France for Pompidou's memorial, as well as a trip to the Middle East and then South America. There are photos of Mrs. Nixon from 1972-1976 and a 1969 Nixon trip to Europe. Portraits and caricatures are included, as well as photos of the dedication of his library. Even the Nixon pets are represented. Many photos show editor enhancements and include typed caption sheets or original news clippings affixed to the verso. The majority are sized 8" X 11". Overall in excellent condition.
