Roberto Clemente's 2000th hit was a major milestone in the career of a man who would go on to have his 3000th hit ball enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. This official National League (Giles) ball made contact with Clemente's bat for that illustrious 2000th hit. It is inscribed, "2000 Base Hit To Gary Best Wishes Roberto Clemente.This ball has been graded a 4.5. There is some chipping throughout inscription, but it does not take away from the importance of this baseball to the history of the game.
