On June 22, 1937 at Comiskey Park in Chicago, World Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Braddock defended his title against the “Brown Bomber” Joe Louis. Louis was a heavy favorite, but Braddock fought valiantly knocking Louis down in the first round. Eventually Louis wore Braddock down and stopped him for good in the eighth round. Offered here is an exceptionally rare poster advertising the showing of the fight films of the Louis-Braddock fight. This poster was issued right after the fight and advertises the film showing at the Washington Theatre during September, 1937. It is 14” x 22” and made of cardboard.and features action photographs from the fight. Beautiful color. No rips, tears or creases. Minor staining. Framed.
