This is an on site poster for the postponed fight between World Middleweight Champion Joey Giardello and top contender Rubin “Hurricane” Carter scheduled for October 23, 1964 in Las Vegas. The fight was actually fought on December 14, 1964 in Philadelphia with Giardello successfully defending his title winning a 15 round decision. Carter was later arrested and convicted of murder in one of the most controversial murder cases of the 20th century. This is a 14 x 22” cardboard poster which has been signed in black sharpie by Joey Giardello. It is in excellent condition with bold color, slight edge and corner wear and minor staining. A rare poster featuring the infamous Rubin Carter.
