An enormous collection of more than 500 photographs chronicling the outstanding political career of Harry S. Truman. The photographs capture images of the Senator in his early days and of course continues through his campaign for the Democratic nomination and finally his tenure as the 33rd President of the United States. The photos are primarily wire photos and range in size with the majority being 8.5”x11” images. This is a dynamite collection for Truman buffs or mid century historians as the images depict some of the U.S. greatest moments in the 1950’s and 1960’s, like the laying of the cornerstone for the first permanent home to the United nations to name only one. The pictures range in quality from good to excellent with some creasing , slight discoloration and minor editorial enhancements.
