The key to this particular example is the fact that Ruth has signed his name just below the photo on page 17 and added the inscription "To My Pal John Montgomery Your Friend Babe Ruth." Signed in mint blue fountain pen. The book itself shows wear and grades VG, but since the signature is in the middle of the book, it remained out of the sunlight and was never able to fade.
