Right-winger Al McDonough was a clever goal scorer in junior and the minors who enjoyed one big NHL season in 1972-73 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He played over 200 big league games and was a solid worker on the power play and could handle checking assignments efficiently. This all original road, red jersey is from McDonough’s one-year stint with the WHA’s Minnesota Fighting Saints. Rawlings size 48 and Steichens tags in collar. Beautiful chain-stitched and tackle twill crest. Four light scrapes below the logo on the front. Light sweat stains and marks from stick rubbing across the front hem striping. One small board burn in the bottom red stripe. Sleeve and back numbers show puckering from washings. #6 on left sleeve has dark stick marks running horizontally though its midsection. Two board burns near the cuff on the back of the left sleeve. Pilling inside both sleeves at the elbows.
