Beautifully framed and matted hand written letter signed by the purported father of baseball, Abner Doubleday. Dated Dec. 7, 1886, the letter is a request by Doubleday for a piece of art. It is matted next to a 5x7" image of Doubleday in his military uniform. The total frames size is 17 x 19" and a fascinating historical account of Doubleday's (rather average) military career is affixed to the back.
