On August 30, 1937 World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis made the first defense of the title he won from James J. Braddock two months earlier. The opponent was the tough Welshman Tommy Farr. To commemorate the event, a large assembly of current & former champions were on hand and were brought into the ring before the fight. A famous photograph of these great champions was taken.
