Barney Ross, great welterweight boxing champ of the 1930's, is captured in this lot of (37) wire photos. Super early images, beginning in 1933, include action-packed fight photos. Later images, when Ross volunteered for the Marine Corps and returned from Guadalcanal a hero, are also vivid with fascinating captions. A boyhood friend of Jack Ruby, Ross is photographed in the latest photo (1964) ready to testify at Ruby's murder trial. Photos are front captioned or have caption sheets affixed to versos. Condition ranges from VG to MT, with many on the better end. Sizes range from 3.5 x 5.5" to 8 x 11".
