In 1939 Max Baer and Lou Nova fought to meet Joe Louis in the heavyweight title fight. The legendary Baer made it eleven rounds before the ref called a TKO and declared Nova the winner. These stunning images tell the story. Two images from their rematch in 1941 are also included, including a hilarious gag pose after weight in. Many of the photos have their original caption sheets attached to the verso. The condition of the lot ranges from VG to MT, with most NM/MT. Sized from 3x8" to 8x10".
