The not so straight mayor of Boston has been in and out of trouble
throughout much of his long political career which is well documented
in this photo lot. There are some great pieces here: 1941 civil
jury orders Curley to repay the state $37,957 he had "improperly
received", 1935 speech to save New England Textile industry, deputy
sheriff serving restraining orders, 1950 receiving pardon from
Truman, 1957 St. Patrick's day festivities, 1947 on his way to jail,
1947 returning to work after being relieved of his duties, 1951
running for his 5th term for Mayor. 1920s to 1940s with a mix of
front captions and paper captions on the versos. 5x7" to 8x10". EX-MT.
