ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||
Stunning grouping of photos of the swimming beauty best known for her
controversial firing from the 1936 Olympic swimming team. Holm was
reportedly suspended from the team for drinking a bit too much during
the boat ride over to Berlin. Holm, admitting to having had a few
drinks, subsequently maintained that her suspension arose from a
personal grudge held by Avery Brundage, the team leader. Highlights
of the lot include: Glamour photo by Maurice Seymour of Chicago,
more cheesecake shots of the beauty in a swimsuit than you can shake
a stick at, Holm & Buster Crabbe performing in Aquacade at the 1939
New York World's Fair, ex-husbands, swimming with Johnny Weissmuller
and more! Did we mention bathing suit shots? Sizes range from 5x7"
to 8x10" and dating from the 1930's to the 1980's. Overall EX- to EX-
MT.
