(94) Wire photo images of Ralph Houk and his ever-present cigar, from his years as the Yankee skipper. A funny early photo has snuck in here, (then Yankee players Houk, Bauer, Shea and Porterfield are hamming it up on a Ft. Lauderdale beach in '51) but the majority are from the 60's and 70's. Notable images include: four-frame photo of Yankee leaders prior to the '58 series with the mugs of Houk, Crosetti, Stengel & Turner; Houk photographed at Yankee HQ's on Fifth Ave in 1960 with the announcement that he would succeed Stengel as manager; neat double exposed photo of Houk puzzling over his infield plan in 1962 after losing Tony Kubek to the Army. Most of the photos have front captions with the remaining images having original caption sheets or news clippings affixed to versos. Sized from 3.5 x 5" to 9 x 11", all are at least VG (mostly due to editing marks) with many NM/ MT.
