Hard bound issues of Wilkes' Spirit of the Times sports magazine from August 1875 to February 1876. The 29 weekly issues have extensive coverage of rowing, chess, draughts, cricket, swimming, horse racing, cock fighting, boxing and much more. This edition is in fine condition. The boards have a small amount of bumping and paper loss at the corners and there is extensive (the front cover is no longer attached) separation from the spine. The inner pages, however, are very good condition with minimal edge wear and/or tearing. Fascinating content.
