Fascinating lot of (500+) sports images. Images range from wire photos to promo photos to reprints of 19th century sports teams. The overall quality is excellent with some worse but many better. Standout vintage photos from include a very early (1923) wire photo of NY Yankee pitcher Sad Sam Jones (6.5 x 11, VG);(5) 8x10's of west coast college football and basketball stars dated 1927 to 1930 (vg to EX); 1936 image from the intercollegiate ski race at Badger Pass in Yosemite(6x8.5 NM-MT); spectacular 8x10 from 1960 showing a US Ski jumper taking a spill (MT). Sports in this lot include baseball, football, hockey, golf, tennis, figure skating , handball, skiing and more. Many wire photos are have original caption sheets or have front captions.
