This vibrant red, yellow and blue 1966 advertisement banner showcases Tiger Hank Aguirre, an All-Star pitcher who would leave the Detroit ball club a year after this advertisement appeared. Rare canvas banner hung at outside gas stations to promote the plastic tumblers available for 39 cents with the purchase of 5 gallons of gas, as this one was draped in the Detroit area. The banners were designed to showcase hometown baseball heroes. This is the first Detroit version that we have ever seen of these banners, and only the third overall. Measures 44x87” and is in VG condition.
