Momentous image of Alvin Purvis reporting to J. Edgar Hoover saying his men shot and killed Dillinger. They are joined by Attorney General William Stanley. Hoover never forgave Purvis for stealing his thunder and it eventually destroyed Purvis’ life. Original paper caption on verso. EX-MT. 7x9”.
