Lot 495: 1903 World Series Boston Royal Rooters Card
ITEM DESCRIPTION
An extremely rare piece from the 1903 World Series, the first proper modern series, that saw the Boston Americans have at it with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Americans triumphed and no doubt the fight song found on the backside of this Boston Royal Rooters Card was echoed down the streets of Boston. Features a portrait of pub owner and Boston Royal Rooters leader "Nuffsaid" McGreevy, a nickname that came from his famous shout to end pub brawls between Boston Americans and Boston Braves fans. Made on baseball card-like stock and in Very Good condition.
