Lot 458: 1978 Graig Nettles New York Yankee Home Jersey
This awesome pinstriped jersey - full of use, with an assortment of stains and some neat pilling on front mid-section - was battered by future New York Yankee captain, and third baseman extraordinaire, Graig Nettles during the playoff and World series of 1978, the second consecutive championship win of that terrific late-1970’s club. This is an all-original jersey that was ordered for that ‘78 World Series, as the “78 1” in the front tail refers. Jersey was also worn during the ‘79 season, as a removed armband on the sleeve affirms. With “Nettles” embroidered on tag in collar, and “Wilson 42” size tag on front tail. Jersey has really nice game use and will fit into any Yankee collection.
