"...And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind, never
knowing who to cling to when the rain set in." In that lyric Elton John
captured part of the essence of Marilyn in a song dedicated to her memory.
Marilyn Monroe remains an icon of America many years after her untimely
death. Maybe it¹s because of her early demise that she has attained
immortality. We¹ll never know for sure. What we do know is that photos of
Marilyn have affected more men around the world than perhaps those of any
other woman in history. This now famous photo was shot by Bert Stern only
six weeks before her death. The three session shoot by Stern was
commissioned by Vogue Magazine and produced some of the most timeless images
of Marilyn. So relevant was this encounter that a photograph from that very
meeting was featured on the cover of Playboy Magazine as recently as
December of 2000. This print features an authentic Stern signature and
measures 20x20². Framed to 28x28". NRMT.
