The 1969 inaugural season road jersey has "San Diego" stitched on across the front and the player number "40" stitched on the back, both in brown and yellow; the player number on the back has been restored, no one appears to have worn number 40 during the1969 season. Brown and yellow piping is present on the collar and sleeves. White "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with size "42" in red is stitched onto the front left tail. Below this is embroidered in brown "1969," indicating the year. Patch has been removed from the left sleeve. The 1970 home jersey has "Padres" stitched on the front and the player number "28" stitched on the back, both in brown and yellow; this was changed from number "27." Brown and yellow piping is present on the collar and sleeves. "44," "Baldschun" and "27" are embroidered in brown on the front left tail, indicating the size, player name and player number, respectively. Below this is the wash instructions tag and a small white flag tag that reads "Set1, #8P, 1970." Both jerseys show great game use.
