Collection of 300 + letters and personal correspondence from baseball players to Jim Rowe. Most have the original envelopes, many of those are also signed by the players in the return address portions. Many of the letters are handwritten, some are short notes, some are multiple pages. Much of the content concerns the players ordering photos of themselves from Jim and date from the 1960s to the 1980s. There are over 250 different names represented here, lots are deceased. One of the most interesting files is that of Freddy Lindstrom; Jim was friends with Freddy and was helpful in getting him into the Baseball Hall of Fame thus, there are ten handwritten and signed Lindstrom letters and other emphemera sent from him. Some multiples, highlights include Lloyd Waner, Joe Sewell, Nick Etten, Judy Johnson, Waite Hoyt, Guy Bush, Frank Crosetti, Johnny Vander Meer, George Uhle, Duffy Lewis, Ken Keltner, Monte Irvin, Cool Papa Bell, Paddy Livingston and many, many more.
