Beautiful collection of images is all from Nixon's trips to San Francisco. Therefore, the SF Examiner sent their own photographers and these are all from the original negatives. They are all oversized and about 8x12”. The clarity is perfect. All date from the 1950s-60s. There is great stuff herein. Also, this is incredibly rare material as the Examiner was the only place you could find these shots. Some publishing marks, o/w EX. Original stampings on versos.
This lot is from the legendary San Francisco Examiner Archive (SFXArchive).
This is one largest collections ever of historic vintage photos spanning the entire 20th century. The San Francisco Examiner was the first paper acquired by William Randolph Hearst and itself was the subject of the film classic Citizen Kane. The majority of the photographs are fully identified, and back-stamped with dates. Included throughout this auction is a diverse mix of subjects including sports, historical, political, transportation, Hollywood, and all facets of entertainment.
