He decided to go with the upstart USFL in 1983 over the NFL and was taken by the Michigan Panthers following a very successful career at the University of Michigan. He played there for three years until the league folded. He dominated from the beginning till the end. Signed in black marker (8/10) on the upper right breast along with his uniform number "1". "Champion L" tag on front tail. "1" screened on front, back and shoulders. Sewn on name plate has letters applied by screening also. The letters are flaking from age. Moderate use.
