Tom Burns gave the great Jack Johnson what Jack could not get on his own; the Heavyweight Championship. No one in America would give Johnson a shot at the title but Burns gave him a chance in Vancouver and Johnson made the most of it. Hand tinted photo (19 x 28") of Jack Johnson is still in its original frame (20 x 29"). Photo was taken circa 1908 and has "The Ring" noted on it. Also on the photo is "Jack Johnson Dec. 26, 1908 Over Tom Burns." Made from the original negative and hand tinted sometime in the 1920's or 30's. Great Jack Johnson item. EX.
