The Atlantic Base Ball Club of Brooklyn, also known as Atlantic or the Brooklyn Atlantics, was baseball’s first champion and it’s first bonafide dynasty holding the title from 1859 through 1961. Presented here is a game ball awarded to the 1861 Brooklyn Atlantics. Oversized lemon peel is painted white (now a gray tone) and labeled in blue “Aug. 16th 61 Atlantic 32 Exercise 17.” Minor paint chipping and small hole in bottom from being mounted hardly detract from the overall Excellent appearance and actually add to the charm.
