Lot 1794: 1907 Poster of Metropolitian Opera Star Galli Curci
ITEM DESCRIPTION
14 x 22" original Galli-Curci concert poster billing a performance at the Ocean Grove Auditorium. Galli-Curci was one of the highest regarded sopranos of the early 20th century. In 1921 Galli-Curci joined the Metropolitan Opera in New York remaining with this organization until her retirement from opera in 1930. Absolutely stunning poster in tones of deep red that look as good as they did when they were first printed. Slight damage to the corners with two small tears on the upper and lower right corners. Framing and matting would just about hide these flaws completely. Condition is near mint.
