Behind his heroic efforts the expansion Diamondbacks beat the heavily favored Yanks 4-3 in what was one of the biggest upsets in World Series history. After personally delivering the opening blow in Game 1 (he would also deliver the knockout punch in Game 7) Schilling signed and inscribed the bag from the hot corner, "Curt Schilling-Game 1- 8 K's -AZ 9 NY1", in black sharpie (8.5/10). The base is screened with the World Series logo on top and affixed with a pair of MLB plates on two sides and each teams logo plate on the others. Written to the bottom in the same pen is "WS Game 1 Set D 3B", which is joined by to MLB authenticating holograms and one from Steiner Sports. Nice use.
