Believed to be a picture of the first bomb to fall on Pearl Harbor in December 7, 1941, this Japanese photo was found torn to pieces by Martin J. Shemanski, Photog's Mate 2/c, Plymouth Pa., at Yokosuka Naval Base near Tokyo. One Japanese plane can be sen pulling out of its bomb run in upper center:another in upper right. Bomb splash shows near ships in center. Shemanski carefully copied the picture on a Japanese camera with Japanese plates, then brought the result back to the USS Shangri-La, where the original was turned over to Naval Intelligence.
