Led by Ruth, the 1927 Yankees batted .307, slugged .489, scored 975 runs, and outscored their opponents by a record 376 runs. The revived "Murderer's Row" was not just beating other teams, they were demoralizing them on the way to another World Title. In the midst of all the hoopla, "The Bambino" sat down for a quiet studio session which produced this handsome portrait. Inscribed by him shortly after in black fountain pen, "To My Friend A.T. Scriven-From Babe Ruth" (8.5/10), the photo measures 7x9.5" and exists today in EX condition. Sussman Studio mark in the left corner and paper remnants on the reverse from previous mounting.
