Long a fan of America’s favorite pastime, Richard Nixon decided in the autumn of 1972 to name his all-time baseball team. In his typed letter to Nellie Fox, dated September 29, he informs the HOF second baseman that he’s made the cut. “Thanks to the splendid help of David Eisenhower and a quiet afternoon at Camp David, I did come up with a list,” and “Because you are a member of our all-time teams, I thought you might like to have a specially printed copy of the complete roster.” Closed with the former President’s black felt tip signature (10/10). The White House letterhead is EX-MT.
