The diminutive shortstop could always be counted on to come up big for the Yankees when they needed it most. A seven-time World Champion and a former MVP, Phil became a regular in the line-up back in 1942 when he replaced, Frank Crosetti. Nearly seven decades later, we proudly offer his white "home" pinstripe flannel from his incredible break through season and his first as an All-Star. Its instantly recognizable "NY" logo has been removed after a brief stint in the minors but the remaining identifiers are all original and exquisite in styling. The famous number "10" on back is unaltered and original, as is the red, white, and blue "Health" patch affixed to the left sleeve. The inner neckline sports the vintage, early-mid 40's "Spalding" label with a size "42" auxiliary tag below. Beneath it sits a classic felt swatch sewn "P. Rizzuto" in navy chain link. In terms of appearance, the garment's colors are still rich with only minor spots of staining and discoloration many of which were acquired during its long employ by Scooter. An amazing, and more importantly rare, wartime specimen worn by one of the most prominent characters in Yankees folklore. LOA.
