Magnificent oil on canvas by this important Midwest artist was discovered in the Detroit area recently, where it lay innocently in a collection for decades. A student of the Boston Museum School, he worked as both a painter and illustrator in the Illinois area. This accomplished artist's paintings generally sell for in the $5,000-$10,000 range, let alone for a painting of such important subject matter. Hockey paintings of this age and quality are extremely rare, let alone by an important American artist. Signed in the bottom right margin, a couple of minor touchups have been expertly crafted. Canvas is 20” x 14" and overall 24” x 17" in its original frame. A major piece.
