Lot 1853: 19th Century Deering Harvesting Machinery Sign from Lincolnville Maine
ITEM DESCRIPTION

Circa 1890s hand-stenciled wood sign was discovered recently in a barn in Lincolnville, Maine. In three separate sections and over ten feet long when the pieces are joined, it was part of the barn itself and has been wonderfully preserved because of that very fact, ironically. In blue with white lettering, the paint is 100% original. Slightly trimmed ends, it is a great piece of folk art from this phase of the Industrial Revolution in New England.
