1947 was Jackie Robinson's and Roy Campanella's rookie year. Additionally, it was arguably the most important season in the history of the game. It was on April 15th of that year that an old era ended and an African American was allowed to play in the Major Leagues. This Spalding official NL ball (Frick) is signed in blue ballpoint by Jackie, Snider, Branca, Barney, Furillo, Lavagetto, Reiser, Stanky, Banta, Barney, Blades, Bragan, Brown, Edwards, Gionfriddo, Gregg, Hatten, Hermanski, Jorgensen, King, Lombardi, Lund, Miksis, Pitler, Rojek, Walker and Whitman. 27 signatures in total. The signatures average 8/10 on an excellent condition ball.
