ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
A very nice collection of hockey items, with a few standouts, such as this nineteenth century child’s hockey stick, ripe and worn, and reinforced by two extra planks of wood on wooden blade, and also highlighted here is a Chicago Black Hawks vs. New York Americans 1930-31 “souvenir program,” with information including home games schedule, team line-ups, “pucklets” of hockey news, and plenty of era-evocative adverts. Also on hand are two Bobby Orr skates from the 1960’s, splashed with use and containing an Orr facsimile autograph on side; (4) pairs of 19th Century blades, including two on wood bases that are buffed by age and separate from shoes, and two all-metal, very rusted and unattached from shoes; a trapper glove made by Cooper of Canada, model # GM7; two early wood hockey sticks; a small, early 20th Century cardboard hockey scoreboard, with advert dominating top, “give that man an R.G. Dun Cigar,” and with a baseball scoreboard on other side; a “Championship Hockey” pinball-like plastic game, with working spring lever to propel marbled balls into points slots; a Marcel Dionne autographed Detroit Red Wings hockey puck; and lastly from the 1920’s, in a colorful vintage box, an ankle supporter from “Collis’ Skating Outfit for Weak Ankles.”
