First game, October 11,1967! Last Game April 1976! That was the short lived life of the NHL California Seals in the Bay Area. Now, there is a cult following for those journeyman players who were once owned by Charlie Finley and wore white skates. The Oakland Coliseum was home rink and it wasn't filled too often. The teams were awful with only two playoff appearances in their tenure and it was bye, bye and off to Cleveland. From the hidden photo files of the San Francisco Examiner we present 78 original untouched press photos that chronicle their short ride. The players include Mike Laughton, Ernie Hicke, Gary Smith,Carol Vadnais,Bobby Sheehan and all the others from those nine seasons.
