Lot 799: Scenes of Goldfield, Nevada by Titsworth (18)
Amazing circa 1905 images of this early western mining town. The very name evokes the perfect images, and these are near perfect. They include: construction gang posed on the train, Main Street, workings of the mine, Railroad Depot, Birdseye View of the Town, Miners Union Hospital, Goldfield Sampling and Ore Company, Palace Block: Home of the Montezuma Club, Banker, freight wagons, prospecting mules, Combination Mint and Mill, Ore from Kendall Mine Value $119,000 per ton Being Deposited in Bank Vault, Joshua Tree in Nevada Desert, Kendall Mine Showing $40,000 Ore Sacked for Shipment, and more. Like something right out of Deadwood. Most of the photographs are by Titsworth with his cartouche on each. Edge chips on some, but images are gorgeous. Overall VG-EX. 8x10''.
