These three 1901 monochromatic, sepia-toned photographic cards from the British Ogden company, are deliciously detailed representations of Paris’ Eiffel Tower, Lt. Col. R.S.S. Baden Powell, and novelist Charles Kingsley, and they are jewels of turn of the century cigarette cards, as each is anchored with the “Ogden’s Guinea Gold Cigarettes” advertisement. Measuring 1 ½ x 2 ¼”, they are delicate wonders of pictorial information, and are a precious find for the serious cartophilist. The Powell and the Eiffel Tower are graded PSA Near Mint 7, while the Kingsley is a PSA NM-MT 8.
