"Newsy" LaLonde (HOF) is recognized as one of hockey's greatest athletes for the first quarter century of the sport. He went widely unnoticed for most of his career because the Canadiens were not yet in the NHL. He got the nickname because he worked in a newsprint plant as a youth. Presented is a gorgeous player photo c.1915, about the time he played for the Montreal Canadiens. The front of the 3X5" photo is in excellent condition. The reverse shows that it was glued in a scrapbook with paper loss and pencil and ink writing. The photographer's mark is mostly visible. This is early hockey history at its finest.
