Lot 1272: Yankee Stadium Seat
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
This spring-levered blue vestige from the House that Ruth Built is a heavy plastic and metal chair, installed in 1974 when new NY Yankee Boss George Steinbrenner was renovating the ballpark, and the franchise, seeding its field with a free agency flair and winning mentality. This single iron seat witnessed the volatile (and successful) years of great match-ups with the Boston Red Sox, the World Series titles of ’77 and ’78, and the likes of Jackson, Guidry, Hunter, and Winfield. Contains the silver plated #4 on top slat, and some remnants on armrests of a possible gluey substance now cracked and caked. EX condition for a seat that is truly representative of the resurgence of the storied New York Yankees.
