If you see little mischievous elves wearing knickers and carrying cargo hooks, maybe you should see a doctor, or maybe you should “Learn to drink Moxie", because it's “very healthful” and is advertised on this turn of the century vintage tin advertisement, with these little Palmer Cox Brownies hauling a case of our nation’s first mass-marketed soft drink towards a lady’s home. The Brownies were very popular elfish characters created by illustrator and poet, Palmer Cox, in the late 1800’s, and were eventually used to advertise many products. Ad is very colorful, with reds, yellows and greens dominating image, and measures 20x14”. With the exception of two small surface removals in center, any image damage is on edges where some early attachment holes are present and resultant scraping has occurred. An overall delightful item, with great display potential.
