This stained, scuffed and well-used Spalding Official National League (Giles) model was signed by National League MVP (1958 & 1959) Ernie Banks and comes from renowned Chicago ball hawk Rick Burhke’s collection. Buhrke has written on the ball "277 Career Homer - #8 (Buhrke’s 8th home run catch of the year) May 28, 1961, Grand Slam #9 of Career," where within can be found Banks’ vintage signature - clean, clear and 8/10 - amidst Buhrke’s inscription. This ball marked Banks’ 9th grand slam, built on his (then) record 5 G-slams in one season back in 1955. Comes with 1977 Sports Illustrated, with article about Buhrke.
