Lot 1972: Group Of 26 Trail Smoke Eaters Programs
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
In 1939, the Alberta British Columbia Hockey League's Trail Smoke Eaters won the World Championship, the last Canadian amateur hockey team to do so (they won as well in 1961). A terrific collection of “official programme’s”, twenty-six in all, spanning seasons 1939-40 (5), 1940-41 (7), 1941-42 (8), 1945-46 (2), and 1947-48 (4). Most to many contain pasted-on (and loose) page newspaper clippings of sports write-ups, very small-town and charming. Pages range from lightly yellowed to occasionally stained, and covers remain in good condition, with the early programs sporting the orange hockey puck shape, and industrial smoke stack design for the center. Stapled binding remains on all, and programs have held together well.
