ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $100.00
Winning Bid: $395.88
Price Realized: $473.08
Auction Date:8/28/2006 9:00 PM EST

Fed up with their injustice and a corrupt government, the Weatherman, formed in 1969 after the SDS dissolved, decided to take the demonstrations to the next level. Later that year, with plans to overthrow the government with a set of carefully planned bombings complete, a few highly motivated members of the group dropped from the face of society and resurfaced as The Weathermen Underground. Their images along with that of letters sent to the press to claim responsibility for various attacks can be found alongside photos of the lot where James Wilkerson's home once stood (his daughter Kathy Wilkerson was a member of the "Underground" and allowed fellow members to use her father's home as a bomb making factory). On March 8 1970, three members of the Weathermen Underground were killed in an explosion in home in Greenwich Village, NY. 8x10", overall EX-MT.
