Memories of bygone sports days were regaled at the opening ceremonies of The Academy of Sport at The World's Fair in 1939 as historic trophies were presented to the archives. Making offerings were two of baseball's best, as Babe contributed his Home Run Crown and Cobb a pair of his infamous shoes with sharpened spikes. Also on hand was the wife of boxer James Corbett.
